Dr. R. G. Patil
Dr. Rajesh G. Patil was born and raised in the revered land of “Sai Baba.” Coming from a humble background of poor farmers, he completed his schooling in his hometown and achieved remarkable academic success, securing admission to B J Medical College with the highest marks.
Notably, Dr. Patil stands as the sole individual from his village and neighboring village to have gained admission to pursue MBBS. Following the completion of his MBBS degree, he displayed exceptional aptitude by securing the 13th rank in the first PG entrance exam. As a result, he was granted admission to pursue MS at the prestigious Government Medical College in Miraj, affiliated with Shivaji University.
In addition to his MS degree, Dr. Patil has undertaken fellowships in various specialized areas. He completed a Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery (DLS) from Germany and acquired the title of FIAGES (Fellow of the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons) as well as FMAS (Fellow of Minimal Access Surgeons of India).
Upon earning his degrees, Dr. Patil embarked on establishing his own nursing home in Aurangabad (Sambhajinagar). During this time, he became acutely aware of the dire circumstances faced by the impoverished population of our country, particularly when it came to accessing quality medical care in the private sector. Recognizing the lack of resources, research, and infrastructure in the medical field, he resolved to make a difference.
Subsequently, Dr. Patil relocated to Mumbai and assumed the position of Assistant Professor at T.N. Medical College & B.Y.L Nair Charitable Hospital, located in Mumbai’s 400008 area. He wholeheartedly dedicated himself to providing assistance to each and every patient, regardless of the circumstances. Moreover, he established the RGP Charitable Trust, through which he extended support to cancer patients, individuals suffering from Varicose Veins, and other diseases.
During the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic, Dr. Patil’s trust actively engaged in various social initiatives. They distributed groceries, provided meals and mineral water supplies to the police, donated N95 masks to Covid centers, and supplied PPE kits to aid in the fight against the virus. Additionally, he took charge of managing the NSCI Covid Centre.
Presently, Dr. Patil serves as the Head of the General Surgery Department and leads a dedicated center for Varicose Veins treatment. His mission is to ensure that patients who cannot afford treatment in private hospitals still receive quality care. To date, he has examined over 10,000 patients in the outpatient department and successfully operated on approximately 1,000 patients at the renowned “Vein Clinic.”
